Energy Flow Observables

چکیده
A few comments are made on the role of nonperturbative and perturbative power corrections. This is followed by a description of energy flow observables and correlations that may provide a flexible approach to rapidity distributions in hadronic scattering. 1 From Factorized Cross Sections to Classical Fields This short talk describes a modest attempt to synthesize one or two of the ideas exchanged at this stimulating workshop. I will try to connect two themes relevant to the very highest energy collisions, the saturation scale and rapidity distributions, with perturbative QCD for hard-scattering cross sections. The very high energies observed in cosmic ray collisions make it natural to think of perturbative QCD, but of course momentum transfers are by no means asymptotically large in most inelastic collisions in the upper atmosphere [1], or at accelerators for that matter. At extemely high energies, however, the same Lorentz contractions of the target and projectile that are at the basis of factorization may also result in very high effective field strengths, which can provide a new dynamical energy, referred to as the saturation scale [2]. The saturation scale acts in a sense as a mean momentum transfer for all partons in the dense medium. For high enough densities and energies, it can be well into the perturbative region. Global Observables at RHIC
The first three measurements from the RHIC program were results on global observables: charged particle multiplicity (Nch), transverse energy (ET ) and elliptic flow (v2). They offer a look at the large-scale features of particle production in high-energy nuclear collisions, with particular insight into entropy production and collective behavior. Results from all of the RHIC experiments are dis...
متن کاملOn deglobalization in QCD
The recent discovery and resummation of a class of single-logarithmic effects (nonglobal logs), has a significant impact on several QCD observables ranging from the classic StermanWeinberg jet definition to currently studied event shapes and rapidity gap observables. The discovery of the above effects overturns, for example, the common wisdom that hadronic energy flow in limited inter-jet regio...
متن کاملSoft-hadronic Observables for Relativistic Heavy-ion Collisions at Rhic and Lhc * * *
The relativistic hydrodynamics together with the single-freeze-out statistical hadronization model is used to describe the midrapidity hadron production in ultra-relativistic heavy-ion collisions at RHIC and LHC. At the highest RHIC energy our approach gives a quite satisfactory global description of soft hadronic observables including the HBT radii. With the increased initial energy, from RHIC...
متن کاملHigh Density Behaviour of Nuclear Symmetry Energy and High Energy Heavy-Ion Collisions
High energy heavy-ion collisions are proposed as a novel means to obtain information about the high density (HD) behaviour of nuclear symmetry energy. Within an isospin-dependent hadronic transport model using phenomenological equations of state (EOS) for dense neutron-rich matter, it is shown that the isospin asymmetry of the HD nuclear matter formed in high energy heavy-ion collisions is dete...
متن کاملIndividual ergodic theorem for intuitionistic fuzzy observables using intuitionistic fuzzy state
The classical ergodic theory hasbeen built on σ-algebras. Later the Individual ergodictheorem was studied on more general structures like MV-algebrasand quantum structures. The aim of this paper is to formulate theIndividual ergodic theorem for intuitionistic fuzzy observablesusing m-almost everywhere convergence, where m...
متن کاملReview of Structures in the Energy Dependence of Hadronic Observables
The energy dependence of various hadronic observables is reviewed. The study of their evolution from AGS over SPS to the highest RHIC energy reveals interesting features, which might locate a possible onset of deconfinement. These observables include transverse spectra of different particle types and their total multiplicities, as well as elliptic flow. In this context especially the observatio...
